About This Dog

STATS: Titus is about 3 years old, a neutered Catahoula, Dalmatian mix, weighs approx 60 pounds. Up to date on vaccs, HW tested and on prevention. He is fed twice daily on Pure Balance. He is not crate broke. He is not fully house broke but working on crate breaking and house breaking. He is a work in progress. He is good at car travel with restraint. He is good at the veterinarians and with nail trims, within reason. He loves toys and is a ball dog. He is so excited and easily entertained and exercised because. He is smart and willing to learn and gives good attention and eye contact. Wants to please. He is a typical Catahoula hound leash puller. He will be getting ongoing help with that. Cats are a 50/50. No small dogs. He would probably get along with a young playful non bossy female. He is not a troublemaker, but will stand his ground. He has been great with children, from 8 years and above, he has been great. We would say toddlers might be a bit much for him and vice versa. He has been abused by older boys…see detailed info below. He never retaliated against them on his part, he has a nice temperament and mind. He is a very active energetic dog but overboard. He does love to be with his people, not overly crazy and is a happy dog. He is a good alert dog with visitors but not over protective. He becomes very friendly once he knows they are welcome.

HISTORY: He belonged to a young couple that should never had pets. They were about to abandon him, leaving him behind in a crate upon their eviction notice. A neighbor contacted his foster that he is with now and has been for about a year, and they went to evaluate. Then they relinquished him to his foster home now.

GOOD: This dog, looks at you with his heart in his eyes and he is extremely loyal. He is a clown and a lot of fun with ball play, easy to exercise that way. Wonderful temperament.

BAD: Not quite housebroken and is a leash puller. Foster parent has two other female dogs that are trouble makers and that is why he is an outside dog right now. This dog has no undercoat and really needs to learn how be part of a household. He has never ever bitten a human.

UGLY: This dog was sexually molested by two 13 and 15 year old boys. It went on undetected for approximately four to six months. Foster parent neighbors caught the boys in the process. State police and child protective services stepped up and the dog had to have anxiety meds for a spell because of the trauma. This dog NEVER GOT UGLY ABOUT IT. Though he did have some anxiety to deal with for a while and that is understandable. He just needs love and time and patience to be the BEST DOG EVER.
